Al, Mary & Nick Knapp welcome you to Triple K Gelbvieh, a family owned purebred seedstock producer located near Bonner Springs, KS. (that’s too close to Kansas City) The Knapp’s have been raising Gelbvieh cattle since 1996 after purchasing a Gelbvieh Bull for breeding some angus/saler heifers. Their son, Nick  started 4-H with a bucket calf at 8 and has been in the beef projects ever since. They attend 8-10 shows each year including the American Gelbvieh Junior Association National Classic, the American Royal, Kansas State Fair and, the Kansas Livestock Association Kansas Beef Expo. They have shown several champions. In 2000 Nick showed the Champion and Reserve Champion Gelbvieh Heifers and the Champion Gelbvieh steer that went on to be the Grand Champion Carcass out of 98 steers at the Leavenworth County Fair.  His 2001 steer won Champion Gelbvieh Steer honors at the Kansas Beef Expo. In 2002 his heifer was reserve champion division V Bred & Owned. In 2003 a cow- calf pair won top female at the AGJA Western Regional show and took Champion cow calf at the Kansas State Fair.

Al’s parents and brother, Gaylen and his family live on adjacent land raising hogs, row crops and helping with the cattle. All of them work off the farm thus keeping them all very busy. Al, Mary and Nick are active in the Glenwood 4-H club, one of the oldest 4-H clubs in Kansas having been founded in 1933. This year Nick will again serve President. He is a junior beef superintendent at the county fair. Al is the former president of the Leavenworth County Beef Improvement Association. The Knapp’s are active in their church.

The Knapp’s enjoy working with cattle and especially their Gelbviehs. They are active in the American Gelbvieh Association having attended the national conventions since 1995.  Al & Mary serve as AGA Junior Advisors and  work closely with, and support the AGJA Board of Directors. Triple K Gelbvieh is a member of the Kansas Gelbvieh Association and the Heart of America Gelbvieh Association. Al serves on the KGA board of directors and is currently vice-president and will serve a three year term on the AGA board of directors starting in 2005..
